Our story
I came from a small town in Tazewell County, Virginia. With minimal beginnings and a humble start, I was given an opportunity through a scholarship from Berea College. This allowed me to earn a doctorate degree in polymer science from Virginia Tech.
I married my high school sweetheart. Over the last sixteen years, I pursued a career in the chemical industry as a program manager and director, finding great success and building relationships with wonderful colleagues around the world. Through years of experience delivering new products and innovation via scale-up, manufacturing, and contract delivery, my expertise became identifying problems and executing solutions by assembling expert teams focused on a unified mission.
As my parents and grandparents grew older, and as I myself aged, I witnessed a problem unfolding before my eyes. Many sick and elderly people who need care in our area are unable to go to medical care, or have to wait hours on a bus appointment, often have to reschedule their appointments. A seed was planted as I questioned, βIs this a problem I should be working on?β Wanting to make a greater impact in my community, I believed I had the ability to manage a team and deliver an optimal solution.
Desiring to create something of my own, I left the only field I knew to start my own company, Tri City Transport, with a mission to provide reliable, personable care in my hometown area.
